CONNAY BRIDGE – from Len Kling
This 254mm diameter dinner plate by John Ridgway bears a pattern which shows Conway Castle Bridge, although the printed cartouche gives the name as CONNAY.
However, more unusual is the contention in the cartouche that it is one of a series of patterns called EUROPEAN LIONS. Dick Henrywood has seen the pattern twice, also on dinner plates, but knows of no other views in this series at all. c1830 - 35.
