PIECES OF INTEREST
Ridgway's plate

PIECES OF INTEREST – from Doug Godden

The plate shown here (right) has a diameter of 242mm. In spite of its very striking design and strong colour I can’t find the pattern recorded anywhere. The transfer fits the shape of the plate exactly. The reverse has a lot of pitted glaze and a cartouche with ‘Stone China’ and J&WR.
